RODEND.NET is an open, vendor-neutral engineering reference for rod ends and motion hardware, published by SYZ Machine under a non-commercial charter: no product placement, no affiliate links, no lead generation.

RODEND.NET is an open, vendor-neutral engineering reference for rod ends, Heim joints, spherical bearings, and the suspension and chassis hardware built around them. It exists to document how these components actually work — construction, materials, load ratings, installation, and failure modes — in a format that neither a sales catalog nor a general mechanical-engineering textbook covers well on its own.

Who Publishes This

RODEND.NET is published and maintained by SYZ Machine, a precision rod end and spherical bearing manufacturer. We’re disclosing that plainly rather than hiding it, because it’s the honest context for evaluating everything else on this site: we have manufacturing and engineering knowledge worth sharing, and we’ve chosen to publish it as an open reference rather than as a sales tool. That tradeoff comes with a set of hard rules we hold ourselves to:

The Non-Commercial Charter
  • No product placement. Articles are not written or edited to favor SYZ Machine parts over any competitor’s. Where a competing brand, standard, or interchange is relevant, it’s named directly.
  • No affiliate links, no sponsored content, no paywalls. Every article, calculator, and standards reference is free to read, with nothing gated behind registration.
  • No lead-generation pressure. This site has no contact form, no “request a quote” button, and no popups. If you want to reach SYZ Machine, that happens on SYZ Machine’s own websites — not here.
  • Claims are checked against normative standards (ISO, SAE, ASTM, MIL-SPEC) and primary engineering references, not marketing copy — ours or anyone else’s.

How Articles Are Written and Checked

Content is authored and edited by SYZ Machine’s technical editorial team, drawing on manufacturing and engineering experience with these components. Where an article cites a standard, a published spec, or a third-party technical source, that source is named in the text rather than presented as an unattributed fact. Where the evidence for a claim is thin, reasoned, or based on a single source, the article says so directly instead of stating it with more confidence than the underlying evidence supports — you’ll see this distinction called out explicitly in articles like the lubrication guide, where several claims are marked as plausible reasoning rather than confirmed fact.

Articles are living documents: as manufacturing practices, standards, or our own understanding improve, existing pages are revised rather than left static.
